Navigation is a fundamental part of safety and enjoyment in the hills and mountains. GPS technology has come a long way, particularly in the last couple of years making it more reliable and easy to use. This introduction to GPS course will give you the confidence and understanding to start using GPS in your navigation “tool kit”. Primarily we will be looking at GPS on smart phones using apps like Outdoor active & OS maps, so there won’t be any need to purchase or bring a dedicated GPS device or wearable.
Who’s the course for:
This one day beginners GPS navigation course is for those who have some experience in the hills using a map & compass but want to expand their navigation skills to include GPS technologies. GPS can be used in one of the following 3 ways;

- Following a route.
- Using a GPS to compliment your map & compass.
