This 1 day / 6 hour Catastrophic Bleed Management course you will learn essential skills and knowledge to effectively respond to life threatening bleeds.

Who’s the course for:

This course is ideal for those working or operating in high risk or hostile environments, such as security staff, arborists (Tree surgeons) , construction & forestry workers, outdoor professionals,  expedition leaders and companies who feel their staff would benefit from this type of training. Participants will receive guidance on catastrophic bleeding control, including dealing with the inherent dangers associated with the use of tourniquets and haemostatic dressings whilst administering First Aid in a high-risk working environment.

Before attending this course you should have either attended an Outdoor First Aid course or a First Aid at Work course.

What’s included:

On this course you will learn how to recognise a catastrophic external bleed, learn to use pressure bandages, tourniquets and multiple CELOX products. You will also learn about the different types of tourniquets, what they can do and what they can’t do. There will be plenty of hands on practice.

Although there is no formal assessment, the trainer will assess each individual ongoing throughout the course and issue a certificate of attendance. There is no expiry date on the certificate as it is attendance only, however, we recommend that you attend this course every 3 years to refresh your skills.

This 1 day course will also include additional practice and training in CPR, AED use and a variety of First Aid scenarios. Ideal for those wanting to up-skill and refresh their first aid knowledge.
